Marker genes

CD3E, CD52, HLA-DRB1, KLRC2

Annotation genes

CD52, HLA-DRB1, KLRC2

Annotation rationales

An adaptive NK baseline is supported by KLRC2 and class II expression (HLA-DRB1), both enriched in antigen-experienced NKs. CD52 marks mature lymphocytes. (Ambient CD3E can reflect low-level contamination but does not alter the adaptive readout.)

Functional implications

Circulating memory-like surveyors with rapid degranulation/IFN-γ potential; integrate HLA-DRB1-linked immune synapse cues and KLRC2/CD94–HLA-E signals to calibrate responsiveness to virally altered targets.

Marker and functional descriptions are atlas annotations. Explore gene expression, trait associations and regulatory elements in the interactive browsers; see the browser guide.
