Marker genes

CCL20, CLIC4, CXCL1, CXCL3, CXCL8, FCAMR, FTH1, ICAM1, IRF1, MAP3K8, NFKB1, NFKB2, NFKBIA, RND1, TNFAIP2, TNFAIP3, TNIP1, UBD

Annotation genes

CCL20, CXCL1, CXCL3, CXCL8, NFKB1, NFKB2

Annotation rationales

A classic NF-κB-driven chemokine burst: NFKB1/NFKB2 with NFKBIA/TNFAIP3 feedback, and neutrophil-recruiting CXCL1/CXCL3/CXCL8 plus CCL20 for CCR6⁺ cells. ICAM1 facilitates leukocyte adhesion in sinusoids. This designates hepatocytes as active coordinators of hepatic inflammation and neutrophil trafficking.

Functional implications

Orchestrates leukocyte recruitment to the liver by secreting CXCL1/3/8 and CCL20 and presenting ICAM1; shapes the magnitude/duration of inflammation via NFKB1/2 programs and their brakes.
