STAB2
Annotation rationales
STAB2/HARE is a definitive scavenger receptor for hyaluronan, heparin, and chondroitin sulfate. Cytoskeletal GEFs (DOCK5/KALRN) and RNA-processing lncRNAs (MALAT1/NEAT1) support high endocytic throughput. Glutamine metabolism (GLS) provides energy/precursors for vesicular trafficking. The signature fits collecting LECs (non-valve) endowed with robust GAG/ligand clearance capacity while maintaining LEC identity.
Functional implications
High-flow clearance specialists that remove GAGs and modified ligands (HA/heparin/CS) from lymph, reduce viscosity, and prevent downstream obstruction. By sustaining endocytic turnover in collectors, they keep lymph propulsion efficient, limit antigen overload on nodes, and shape immune tone by clearing DAMPs that would otherwise amplify inflammation.
