Marker genes
ACKR1, CLU, CST3, HLA-DPA1, HLA-DPB1, HLA-DRA, PLVAP
Annotation genes
ACKR1, PLVAP
Annotation rationales
ACKR1 (DARC) is a post-capillary venule hallmark mediating chemokine transcytosis; PLVAP reflects diaphragmed fenestrae that increase macromolecular flux. Induction of HLA-II genes indicates APC-like capacity under activation. Together they mark the immune-trafficking gateway downstream of capillaries.
Functional implications
Exit ramp for leukocytes: specialize in chemokine presentation/transcytosis, facilitate diapedesis, and present antigen to guide local immunity. They regulate fluid/protein exchange and serve as hubs for immune cell egress from the microcirculation.
Marker and functional descriptions are atlas annotations. Explore gene expression, trait associations and regulatory elements in the interactive browsers; see the browser guide.
