Annotation rationales

Type-I/II IFN–induced chemokines (CXCL9/10/11) recruit CXCR3⁺ T cells; GBP1/4 and ISG20 indicate antiviral effector programs. IDO1 (tryptophan catabolism) and IFI30/CTSS (endolysosomal proteases) point to enhanced antigen processing and local immunoregulation. VCAM1 licenses firm adhesion/diapedesis, while CX3CL1 supports CX3CR1⁺ monocyte/T cell patrolling. Overall, this is a capillary EC antiviral/inflammatory activation module that couples leukocyte recruitment with heightened antigen handling.

Functional implications

Immune gateway mode: amplifies tissue antiviral surveillance, attracts effector/memory T cells and monocytes, and provides firm adhesion for transendothelial migration. IDO1 tempers excessive inflammation while sustaining antigen presentation. Net effect is rapid containment of infection at the capillary bed with controlled permeability to preserve tissue function.
