Marker genes
CCL2, GADD45B, HAMP, LINC00513, MAFF, SGMS2, SOCS3, TNFRSF11B, XIRP1, ZFP36
Annotation genes
CCL2, GADD45B, HAMP, MAFF, SOCS3, XIRP1, ZFP36
Annotation rationales
CCL2 drives monocyte recruitment; SOCS3/ZFP36 provide feedback to restrain cytokine/NF-κB waves; GADD45B/MAFF reflect oxidative-stress transcriptional rewiring; HAMP (hepcidin) alters iron handling, shaping ROS and mitochondrial function; XIRP1 supports intercalated-disc and myofibril integrity under stress. This is a parainflammatory CM state balancing defense and structure.
Functional implications
Inflammation-engaged myocytes that signal to and shape immune infiltration (via CCL2), while deploying internal stress defenses to keep sarcomeres and junctions intact. They help contain injury but, if persistent, can promote fibrosis and electrical instability, nudging the ventricle toward adverse remodeling.
