Annotation rationales
Strong G1/S–G2/M module (TK1/TYMS/UBE2C/BIRC5/PCLAF/PRC1) marks actively dividing ASPCs, the pool that expands during growth, obesity, or repair.
Functional implications
Progenitor amplification. Supplies new stromal and preadipocyte cells for depot expansion or remodeling after injury; supports angiogenesis by increasing the number of perivascular stromal cells. Dysregulated persistence may predispose to fibrosis or hyperplastic WAT.
Marker and functional descriptions are atlas annotations. Explore gene expression, trait associations and regulatory elements in the interactive browsers; see the browser guide.
