Annotation rationales
High chemokines (CCL2/CXCL1/2/3/10), adhesion (ICAM1), and acute-phase/TSG-6 (PTX3/TNFAIP6) define an inflamed stromal state that recruits monocytes and neutrophils. SOD2 and metallothioneins indicate oxidative stress protection; NNMT reflects metabolic rewiring. This program often suppresses adipogenesis and promotes immune crosstalk.
Functional implications
Immuno-modulatory stromal hub. Orchestrates leukocyte influx and edema control, buffers ROS/metal stress, and—if chronic—tilts the niche toward insulin resistance and impaired adipogenesis; when transient, helps clear damage and restore tissue tone.
